Sustronics White Paper
The SUSTRONICS White Paper presents the project’s main conclusions and recommendations for accelerating the transition towards sustainable and circular electronics. Based on the work of 46 partners from 11 European countries, it combines lessons from technology development, environmental assessments and pilot demonstrations in the lighting, automotive and healthcare sectors.
The publication addresses sustainable materials and manufacturing, eco-design, Life Cycle Assessment, circular business models, repairability, recycling and end-of-life management. It also introduces the SUSTRONICS Eco2Design process, which integrates environmental assessment, technology development, business models, value networks and data management throughout the product development cycle. The White Paper concludes with targeted actions for industrial companies, researchers and policymakers, including recommendations on standards, Digital Product Passports, repairability requirements and support for sustainable manufacturing
